After the recent victory of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States of America, Gianni Infantino, the president of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), took to his official Instagram account to congratulate Trump on his win. Infantino expressed his excitement for the upcoming FIFA World Cup and FIFA Club World Cup that will be held in the United States, stating that “Football Unites the World.”

Infantino has been proactive in building a strong relationship with the Trump administration, having visited the White House multiple times and even sharing a dinner with then-President Trump in Davos, Switzerland, during the World Economic Forum in January 2020.

It has been confirmed that the United States will be hosting the majority of matches for the 2026 Men’s World Cup, further solidifying the country’s role in the global football community.
