Ibrahim Sannie Daara Calls for Higher Standards and True Commitment from Black Stars Players

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) spokesperson, Ibrahim Sannie Daara, recently expressed his concerns about the attitude and performance of some players in the Black Stars national team. Daara emphasized the need for national team coaches to set higher standards for the squad and address a growing issue of lack of true commitment among some younger players.

Daara pointed out that many younger players do not seem to value the honor of a national team call-up as previous generations did. “A lot of young players don’t appreciate call-ups into the national team. Some players have shown a lack of commitment to the team,” he noted, highlighting what he sees as a concerning shift in attitude among certain individuals.

He emphasized the importance of creating a more competitive team environment. “Many players feel too comfortable in the Black Stars team,” Daara added, suggesting that coaches should expand the pool of eligible players to increase competition within the squad. This, he believes, will motivate the current players to stay dedicated and focused on achieving success for the national team.

Daara also stressed the need for clear communication from the coaching staff regarding the consequences of underperformance. “Players need to understand that there are repercussions for not performing in the national team,” he insisted, urging coaches to instill a sense of accountability among the players.

Overall, Daara’s comments reflect a collective desire for greater discipline and competition to reignite the passion and commitment of the Black Stars to succeed on the international stage. By setting higher standards and fostering a more competitive environment, the hope is that the team will return to its winning ways and make Ghana proud once again.
