A horrifying incident unfolded in Fulshear, Texas, as a father, Pedro Luis Parra Pulgar, stands accused of deliberately setting his own home on fire with his three children inside. The 46-year-old suspect now faces three counts of attempted murder, with a staggering bond set at $2.25 million.
The devastating fire erupted on November 6 at 31619 Eldorado Lane in the Polo Ranch Community, causing significant damage to the residence. Prompt response from first responders was crucial in containing the blaze and rescuing the inhabitants.
Despite sustaining extensive injuries himself, Pulgar was the sole occupant to be hospitalized following the fire. After a prolonged period of medical treatment, he was finally discharged and promptly taken into custody at the Fort Bend County Jail.
Miraculously, two of the children managed to escape the inferno with minor injuries. However, the youngest, a three-year-old, was trapped inside the burning home. Thanks to the swift actions of law enforcement officers, particularly Sgt. Brandon Moseley, the child was located and rescued from the dangerous situation.
Following the harrowing ordeal, the three-year-old was airlifted to a nearby hospital due to severe smoke inhalation. Fortunately, the child has since been released from medical care and is on the path to recovery.
This disturbing incident serves as a stark reminder of the gravity of domestic violence and the need for vigilance in safeguarding vulnerable individuals, particularly children, from harm. The bravery and quick thinking of first responders are commendable, underscoring the critical role they play in protecting and serving their communities.
