Super Clash: Kotoko vs Hearts of Oak – Preview, statistics, team news, predictions

Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak are set to clash in the highly anticipated Super Clash this Sunday afternoon in the Ghana Premier League. The match will take place at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, where the Porcupine Warriors will test their mettle against their archrivals.

Heading into this fixture, Asante Kotoko has struggled in the Ghana Premier League, winning just one of their last five matches and losing the other four. On the other hand, Hearts of Oak have shown better form with three wins, one draw, and one loss in their last five games. Kotoko currently sits in 7th place with 19 points from 12 games, while Hearts of Oak are in 6th place with 18 points. A victory for either side could significantly impact their positions in the league standings.

In their last five GPL matches, Asante Kotoko has scored three goals and conceded five, while Hearts of Oak has scored five goals and conceded just two. The Porcupine Warriors have also won their last two encounters against Hearts of Oak. Additionally, Hearts of Oak is the second-best-ranked away team this season.

Under the guidance of Prosper Ogum, Asante Kotoko is yet to lose a game, winning three and drawing one out of the four matches he has managed. As for team news, Abdul Aziz Nurudeen is fit and may feature for Hearts of Oak, while winger Wisdom Fernando Bassy is set to make his first Super Clash appearance for Kotoko. However, new signing Kwame Opoku is unlikely to play in this game.

In terms of prediction, it’s expected to be a tight contest with a potential scoreline of Asante Kotoko 1-1 Hearts of Oak. The match is scheduled to kick off at 3:00 PM (15:00 GMT).

Overall, the Super Clash between Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak promises to be an exciting and closely contested encounter, with both teams eager to secure a crucial victory in the Ghana Premier League.
