The 2025 GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition is now open for applications, marking the seventh annual search for Africa’s most promising young co-founders and founders in the agrifood sector. This competition aims to recognize innovative, scalable, and impact-driven agripreneurs aged 18 to 35 who have developed sustainable businesses addressing food security, job creation, and economic growth. Applications will be accepted from 3 April to 10 June 2025.

Finalists of the GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize will have the opportunity to pitch their businesses live on stage in Dakar, Senegal during the Africa Food Systems Forum (AFSF) in September 2025. Two grand prizes of US$50,000 each will be awarded to the most outstanding male and female-led agribusinesses. Additionally, Impact Awards totaling US$60,000 will be granted to businesses excelling in key areas such as technology, innovation, nutrition, food security, climate resilience, gender equity, and more.

The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition is an integral part of the AFSF, a platform that brings together stakeholders to take practical action towards transforming Africa’s food systems. With the theme “Africa’s Youth: Leading Collaboration, Innovation, and Implementation of Agri-Food Systems Transformation” for the 2025 AFSF, the competition aims to empower young entrepreneurs from various regions across Africa.

As Africa grapples with challenges such as lack of infrastructure, access to finance, and food insecurity, its youth are stepping up to drive change. The GoGettaz Agripreneur Prize Competition serves as a platform for these young innovators to showcase their solutions, receive mentorship, and access resources to enhance their impact in the agrifood industry.

The competition has gained recognition for spotlighting diverse young entrepreneurs who are revolutionizing the agribusiness sector with innovative solutions. Open to all African agripreneur-led businesses headquartered on the continent, the 2025 competition seeks to support and empower young entrepreneurs in scaling their ventures.
