The shift away from woke culture in America seems to be gaining momentum as more companies and individuals distance themselves from the divisive ideology. Boeing recently made the decision to dissolve its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion department, following in the footsteps of other major corporations like John Deere, Harley Davidson, and Jack Daniels. This move reflects a broader trend of companies reevaluating their approach to hiring and workplace policies.

The financial sector is also rethinking its embrace of Environmental Social Governance (ESG) investing, which has led to higher gas prices and consumer backlash. BlackRock, a prominent investment firm, is shifting away from ESG portfolios that prioritize environmental and social issues over financial performance. This change highlights a growing disillusionment with woke ideologies that prioritize virtue signaling over practical results.

Even political figures like Kamala Harris, once a champion of woke causes, are pivoting towards a more positive and inclusive message. Harris, who is now the Democratic presidential nominee, is focusing on unity and joy rather than grievance politics. This shift reflects a broader societal backlash against the excesses of woke culture.

Despite these signs of progress, it is important to remain vigilant. Wokeness may still have a foothold in certain sectors, particularly in government agencies and corporate boardrooms. The outcome of the upcoming election could determine the future trajectory of woke ideology in America.

In the realm of journalism, the spirit of investigative reporting is alive and well. Journalist Ellie Terrett, a producer at Fox Business, recently played a crucial role in exposing the wrongful imprisonment of crypto executive Tigran Gambaryan. Terrett’s reporting drew attention to Gambaryan’s case and ultimately led to his release from a Nigerian prison after eight months of incarceration.

Terrett’s dedication to uncovering the truth and advocating for justice reflects the best traditions of journalism. Her work serves as a reminder that reporters like P.J. McNeal in the classic film “Call Northside 777” can still make a difference in the world. As we navigate the complexities of a changing society, it is heartening to see individuals like Terrett shining a light on injustice and working towards positive change.
