In a historic move, the Office of the President organized the first-ever public viewing of the Christmas decorations at the State House grounds and gardens. The event took place on Saturday, December 21, attracting a crowd of over 1,500 visitors from 7 PM to 11 PM.
People of all ages gathered at the gates, eager to witness the State House grounds adorned in festive lights and decorations. Children, in particular, were filled with excitement as they marveled at the magical displays and the various vehicles on display.
The highlight of the evening was the presence of President Wavel Ramkalawan and First Lady Mrs. Linda Ramkalawan, who personally greeted and extended season’s greetings to the attendees.
The event, scheduled for two evenings on December 21 and 22, received an overwhelming response from the public. Given its success, the ‘Christmas Open Day’ is expected to become a cherished annual tradition during future festive seasons at State House.
