Entertainment outlets have come up with exciting specials for art enthusiasts who are eager to join in on the Black Friday frenzy. While traditional music stores like Musica may no longer be around due to the rise of online music streaming platforms, the demand for discounts and deals still remains strong in the art space.

The renowned Market Theatre in Johannesburg’s Newtown is offering theatre lovers a chance to catch up on recent shows they may have missed by slashing 50% off all productions. This Black Friday special kicks off at midnight on Thursday and runs until Saturday. Patrons can even purchase tickets for future shows as long as they are bought within the Black Friday window.

Meanwhile, the South African State Theatre is offering a discount on the Adoration Concert happening on 14 December. This concert will feature acclaimed gospel artists sharing the stage with emerging musicians, providing a unique and enriching experience for attendees.

In the realm of literature, publishing house Jacana Media recently held a Black Friday sale, offering bookworms a 50% discount on all books under their label. This initiative catered to avid readers looking to expand their literary collection at a discounted price.

For movie enthusiasts, Ster-Kinekor is rolling out a special R99 ticket and combo deal for all movies at their cinema sites, valid for one day only on Black Friday. This offer allows film buffs to unwind and enjoy a movie of their choice at a discounted rate, making it an enticing option for those looking for affordable entertainment options.

Additionally, Ster-Kinekor has been running a Throwback Cinema campaign, showcasing classic films on the big screen. Past screenings have included iconic movies from 1994, such as The Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, and Carrie. On Black Friday, moviegoers can look forward to watching Disney’s new animated sequel, Moana 2, along with other popular titles at the special price of R99.
