The recent July 4th celebrations at the Chesapeake Baysox game against the Richmond Flying Squirrels were filled with exciting events. Between innings, spectators were treated to a bubble-bump competition, a moving violin rendition of God Bless America performed by an on-duty police officer, and a hilarious game where kids armed with pool noodles took on a guy in a bug costume. To cap off the night, there was a spectacular fireworks display, although the Baysox unfortunately lost the game 1-6, frustrating fans as the team twice failed to capitalize on bases loaded situations.

The challenges faced by FDA staff highlight the need for support and resources to ensure the agency can continue its crucial work in safeguarding public health. To read the full story on this issue, head over to STAT+ for more in-depth coverage.
