State House Sierra Leone

His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio recently welcomed the Special Envoy of the President of Libya, Khaled Kaim, to State House in Sierra Leone. Kaim, who also serves as the Senior Political Adviser to the President of Libya, delivered a message of solidarity and reaffirmed Libya’s commitment to strengthening the bilateral relationship between the two nations.

During the meeting, Dr. Khaled Kaim commended President Bio for his efforts in elevating Africa’s status at the United Nations Security Council. He highlighted the common interests shared by Libya and Sierra Leone as members of the African Union’s Committee of Ten (C-10) and founding members of the African Union, emphasizing the potential for effective collaboration in advancing mutual goals. He also expressed Libya’s gratitude for President Bio’s dedication to promoting the collective interests of Africa and its people.

President Bio, in turn, reaffirmed the strong bilateral ties between Sierra Leone and Libya, acknowledging the longstanding and beneficial relationship between the two nations. He expressed gratitude to the President, government, and people of Libya for their continued partnership and assured Libya of his government’s commitment to further strengthening diplomatic and economic cooperation.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Madam Francess Piagie Alghali, introduced the Special Envoy and his delegation to President Bio, providing a briefing on their visit and discussions.
