A shocking CCTV footage capturing the alleged theft of a Hyundai Elantra saloon car in Kumasi has sent ripples of disbelief throughout Ghana. The incident took place last Wednesday in Patasi, a neighborhood in Kumasi located in the Ashanti Region.

The video, which quickly went viral on social media, shows a suspect dressed in a white T-shirt, black jeans, and a black cap, casually strolling past a parked Hyundai Elantra with registration number DV-5508-24. The thief then attempts to unlock the car using various keys until he finally succeeds in gaining access. With alarming ease, he enters the vehicle and drives away without drawing any attention to himself.

According to the accompanying commentary in the footage, it is suspected that the thief used a master key to carry out the theft. The narrator also highlighted the fact that the owner had left the car unattended, making it an easy target for the perpetrator.

The video has sparked a flurry of reactions on social media, with many expressing shock at the thief’s audacity and skillful execution of the crime. Some users questioned whether the theft could have been an inside job, speculating on how the suspect obtained the precise key needed to unlock the car.

In response to the incident, several users emphasized the importance of implementing enhanced security measures such as steering locks, car alarms, and tracking devices to deter potential thieves.

While official statements from authorities are still pending, the incident serves as a stark reminder for car owners to exercise caution and take necessary precautions when parking their vehicles.

The footage has elicited a range of responses from social media users, with some expressing concern over the lack of vigilant monitoring in control rooms, while others suggested that the theft may have involved collusion from within the dealership that sold the car.

The video serves as a cautionary tale for car owners to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding their vehicles against potential theft. As the investigation unfolds, it is crucial for individuals to stay informed and take necessary steps to protect their valuable assets.
