The Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST Africa) has recently announced SAYeTECH as the winner of the MEST Africa Challenge (MAC) 2024. The MAC 2024 grand finale, held in partnership with the Norwegian Embassy in Accra, celebrated innovative AgriTech solutions in West Africa under the theme ‘Find Your Soil.’
SAYeTECH, a Ghanaian startup led by Theodore Ohene-Botchway, emerged victorious for its innovative agricultural machinery designed specifically for African conditions. The company secured $50,000 in equity funding to scale its operations, enabling them to enhance production and reduce delivery lead times for smallholder farmers.
The MEST Africa Challenge attracted applicants from various West African countries, including Benin, Cape Verde, Côte D’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Mali, and Togo. Six finalists were selected to pitch their groundbreaking AgriTech solutions aimed at enhancing productivity and sustainability in the region.
