Despite an ongoing investigation by the South African Police Service (SAPS), no arrests have been made in connection with Freitag’s murder.

According to SAPS spokesperson Colonel Brenda Muridili, the case is still under investigation and they are appealing to anyone with information to come forward.

No arrests yet in Lifman shooting case

Despite the incident being captured on CCTV cameras and witnesses coming forward, no arrests have been made in connection with the attempted hit on Lifman.

The motive behind the attack remains unclear, but speculation is rife that it could be linked to ongoing gang warfare in the Western Cape.

As the year comes to an end, these three cases continue to haunt the nation, leaving many unanswered questions and a sense of unease. The families of the victims are still waiting for justice to be served, and the public is left wondering when the truth will finally come to light.

Wainstein was shot dead in his Constantia home, allegedly by two hitmen who were instructed by Lifman to kill him for a R10 million reward.

Lifman, who dubbed himself the “king of the underworld”, reportedly had a long-standing feud with Wainstein, who had threatened to expose Lifman’s alleged criminal activities.

The two hitmen in the Wainstein case, Matthew Pansegrouw and Sheldon Beukes, were sentenced to life imprisonment in 2020 for the murder.

Murder conspiracy claims

According to sources close to the case, Freitag’s murder is believed to be linked to a conspiracy between Lubbe, Oosthuizen, and a third party to eliminate the former high jumper after he reportedly became a liability following the alleged hit on Harmse.

The motive behind Freitag’s murder is still being investigated but sources have revealed that authorities suspect it was for financial gain or to silence him.

Article Title: The Intriguing Case of Mark Lifman’s Murder: Unraveling the Underworld Connections

In August 2017, the international steroid smuggler, Mark Lifman, met a gruesome end when he was shot and killed in his luxurious Constantia home. The circumstances surrounding his murder have raised eyebrows and led to a web of conspiracy theories and underworld connections coming to light.

One of the key figures in the unfolding drama is Alwyn Landman, the owner and CEO of Personal Protection Alternatives (PPA), a private security company that provided personal protection services to Cape Town’s elite. Landman, along with his associates Bezuidenhout and Jacobs, were implicated in Lifman’s murder plot. It is believed that the motive behind the hit was retaliation for the alleged murder of one of their security officers in Paarden Island.

Jerome “Donkie” Booysen, a prominent figure in the Belhar Sexy Boys and 26s gang, and a co-accused in the Wainstein underworld trial, has publicly accused Landman of orchestrating the hit on Lifman. According to Booysen, Landman and Jacobs were closely linked, with Jacobs being a skilled shooter under Landman’s command. The allegations have sparked a wave of speculation and intrigue within the underworld circles.

Lifman, a well-known Cape Town property developer, has long been associated with a string of serious charges, including murder, attempted murder, money laundering, and gang-related offenses. Despite the mounting allegations against him, Lifman vehemently denied any involvement in criminal activities.

As the investigation into Lifman’s murder continues to unfold, more details about his connections to the underworld and the motives behind his assassination are expected to come to light. The case of Mark Lifman’s murder serves as a stark reminder of the dark underbelly of society and the complex web of relationships that exist within it.
