Fortunately, the car was successfully recovered by law enforcement agencies, including the Cherry Hills Village Police Department and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
According to Detective Justin Smith of the Cherry Hills Village Police Department, the hackers managed to infiltrate the email system of a carrier company that was transporting Bryant’s prized vehicle. Thanks to license-plate-detecting cameras, the police were able to track the truck carrying the stolen Lamborghini from Colorado to Nevada, where a suspect was arrested in connection with the theft.
The 2023 Lamborghini Huracan is a luxury sports car that can retail for over $340,000, making it a valuable commodity for thieves. Bryant’s customized car was easily recognizable, which helped law enforcement identify it when it was spotted in Las Vegas.

The suspect, Dat Viet Tieu, claimed to own a maintenance shop and said he was asked by a Texas man to fix the car’s computer system. Several other suspects have been arrested in connection with the hacking and thefts, including another baseball player from the Texas Rangers team. The collaborative efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies led to the successful recovery of Bryant’s stolen Lamborghini.
