Over 900 People Gather in Sydney to Set World Record for Monopoly Game

A record-breaking event took place in late March in Sydney, Australia, where over 900 people came together to play Monopoly and set a new world record. The event, organized by the Little Legs Foundation, aimed to honor the memory of Alegra Vasiliou, a young girl who passed away from brain cancer at the age of six.

Alegra’s parents fondly remember playing Monopoly with their daughter, who was known for upholding the rules of the game and always asking for one more rematch. To pay tribute to Alegra’s love for Monopoly, the event featured over 150 tables of six players each, all using an officially-licensed version of the game with Alegra’s image on it.

The Little Legs Foundation, established in Alegra’s memory to raise awareness about brain cancer, hosted the event on March 30th, surpassing the previous world record of 733 participants. Alegra’s mother, Sue-Ellan, expressed her gratitude for the support and turnout at the event, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness for the disease that took her daughter’s life.

Attendees at the event not only set a new world record but also created a space for people of all ages to come together, celebrate Alegra’s life, and contribute to a meaningful cause. The event not only broke a Guinness World Record but also created a unique version of Monopoly dedicated to Alegra, showcasing the power of unity and community in making a positive impact in the world.

Overall, the event was not only a record-breaking achievement but also a heartfelt tribute to a young girl whose love for Monopoly brought joy to those around her. Through the power of community and remembrance, Alegra’s legacy lives on, inspiring others to come together for a greater cause.
