Renowned Nollywood Director Dimeji Ajibola Passes Away
The Nigerian movie industry is mourning the loss of popular director Dimeji Ajibola, who passed away on Sunday after a long battle with an undisclosed illness. His death has left a void in the hearts of many in the entertainment sector.
The news of Ajibola’s passing was confirmed by fellow filmmaker Samuel Olatunji, who expressed his sorrow over the loss. Olatunji shared, “Dimeji Ajibola was my client and friend. So sad to hear this news. Rest in peace to a great guy! Sad Sunday as the director of Shanty Town passed away.”
Ajibola was known for his exceptional work behind the camera, directing acclaimed visuals such as ‘Shanty Town’, ‘Slum King’, ‘Hoodrush’, ‘Ovy’s Voice’, and ‘Wura’. His talent and dedication to his craft earned him several awards, including Best Actor and Soundtrack at the Nollywood Movies Awards, Best Supporting Actor at the AMAA Awards, and Best Movie at the 2012 Green Me Film Festival in Germany.
Throughout his career, Ajibola was recognized as a creative force and visionary in the entertainment industry. He was praised for his ability to merge traditional and digital art forms in innovative ways, captivating audiences with his unique storytelling.
