Top Five Nominees Revealed for CAF Awards 2024

The Confederation of African Football has officially unveiled the top five nominees in the Men’s Categories for the upcoming CAF Awards 2024 on Monday.

The players who have made it to the top five include Simon Adingra from Côte d’Ivoire playing for Brighton & Hove Albion, Serhou Guirassy from Guinea representing Borussia Dortmund, Achraf Hakimi from Morocco who plays for Paris Saint-Germain, Ademola Lookman from Nigeria who is currently with Atalanta, and Ronwen Williams from South Africa playing for Mamelodi Sundowns. These players are all in contention for the prestigious Player of the Year award at the CAF Awards 2024.

The CAF Awards 2024 ceremony is set to take place on December 16, 2024, in Marrakech, Morocco.

CAF has announced seven categories within the Men’s Category of the awards, with each category featuring the top five players, coaches, and teams based on their performance.

The categories announced include Goalkeeper of the Year, Interclub Player of the Year, Coach of the Year, Young Player of the Year, Club of the Year, and National Team of the Year.

The CAF Awards 2024 will evaluate performances from January 2024 to October 2024.

Ademola Lookman is considered as a frontrunner for the Player of the Year award due to his outstanding performance in previous and current seasons.

He scored three crucial goals as Nigeria progressed to the Africa Cup of Nations final in Ivory Coast and made history by netting a hat-trick in the 2024 UEFA Europa League final, leading his club to victory against Bayer Leverkusen.
