The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) School of Business (KSB) recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of excellence in business education. The Business School has been at the forefront of promoting entrepreneurship as a key component of the university’s development objectives.

At the anniversary launch and alumni homecoming event, the faculty emphasized its role in honing students’ entrepreneurial skills to enable them to create jobs rather than just seeking employment. The ceremony was a vibrant display of blue, white, and black, with the KNUST School of Business (KSB) community, alumni, and students coming together to reflect on past achievements and future initiatives.

The event featured keynote speeches from distinguished alumni, alumni networking opportunities, and entrepreneurship workshops. Speaking at the launch, Vice-Chancellor Professor Rita Akosua Dickson praised KSB for fostering entrepreneurial thinking in education, research, and community service. She urged both current and former students to become transformative leaders who can drive change in Ghana, Africa, and beyond.

The theme of the anniversary celebration was “20 Years of Excellence in Business Education: Building Capacity and Resilience for Sustainable Development.” The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, encouraged KSB graduates to be resilient, adaptable, and socially conscious business leaders who strive for positive change.

Dean of the KNUST School of Business, Professor Ahmed Agyapong, reiterated the school’s commitment to innovation and announced plans to enhance facilities and incorporate emerging technologies into the curriculum to prepare students for the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Renowned Ghanaian business tycoon Dr. Daniel McKorley (McDan) urged young graduates to explore entrepreneurship as a means of survival, innovation, and job creation in Africa. He highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship in identifying opportunities, creating jobs, and driving transformation in the continent.

In conclusion, the KNUST School of Business’s 20th-anniversary celebration was a testament to its dedication to fostering entrepreneurial skills and preparing future business leaders for success in a rapidly changing global economy. As the school continues to innovate and adapt to new challenges, it remains a beacon of excellence in business education in Ghana and beyond.
