The action kicked off in the 26th minute when Congo’s Christopher Ibayi took advantage of a defensive error by South Sudan. With a powerful strike, Ibayi found the back of the net, giving Congo a 1-0 lead and setting the tone for the rest of the half.

South Sudan’s Ebon Wajo was quick to respond, leveling the score at 1-1 just five minutes later. Positioned inside Congo’s box, Wajo displayed his skill by neatly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper.

However, Ibayi was determined to put Congo back in the lead. In the 35th minute, he received a brilliant pass and unleashed a precise shot to make it 2-1 for Congo.

Not to be outdone, Wajo once again stepped up for South Sudan. Just before halftime, he seized an opportunity to score his second goal of the match, equalizing the score at 2-2 and keeping his team in the game.

As the teams headed into the break with the score level, fans were left eagerly anticipating the second half. With both sides vying for victory, the outcome of this thrilling qualifiers match remained up in the air.
