New Delhi: Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump expressed gratitude towards his supporters as he edges closer to a landslide victory in the US election. He hailed the outcome as a “magnificent victory for the American people” and reflected on the July 13 assassination attempt, attributing his survival to a higher purpose.

With projections indicating that Trump is set to secure 267 electoral college votes, just three shy of the crucial 270 mark, his opponent, incumbent Vice President Kamala Harris, trails behind at 214.

Characterizing the Republican campaign as the “greatest political movement of all time,” Trump asserted, “We are poised to facilitate healing in our nation, fortify our borders, and have scripted history for a reason tonight. This victory marks an unparalleled political triumph. I extend my heartfelt thanks to the American people. I pledge to champion your interests and those of your families with unwavering dedication.”

Trump further highlighted the Democrats’ anticipated electoral votes tally of 315. A pivotal factor contributing to Trump’s triumph was the Republican sweep in seven swing states. These states, which had favored Democrats with a 6-1 edge in the 2020 polls, now stand at a resounding 7-0 advantage for Trump. Notably, Trump has clinched victories in three swing states – Georgia, Pennsylvania, and North Carolina – and maintains a lead in Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Nevada.

The Republican victory is further underscored by their acquisition of control in the Senate and their lead in the House of Representatives elections.

During his victory address, Trump expressed appreciation for his supporters, running mate JD Vance, wife Melanie Trump, and children for their unwavering support throughout a grueling campaign. He also acknowledged Tesla CEO and SpaceX founder Elon Musk for his vocal backing.

As the nation braces for a new era under Trump’s leadership, the promise of change and progress looms large on the horizon. The Trump administration’s agenda is poised to reshape the political landscape and usher in a new chapter for America.
