Black Stars Budget: GFA to Provide Comprehensive Remarks

Accra, Sept. 3, GNA – The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that they will be addressing the recent statement made by the Sports Ministry regarding the slashing of the Black Stars budget.
The Sports Ministry held a press conference on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, to explain how they managed to save taxpayers’ money for the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.
In response, the GFA stated that they will provide clarifications on the remarks made by Sports Minister, Mr Kofi Iddie Adams, after the upcoming Mali match next Monday.
“The GFA has taken careful note of statements made at the press briefing by the Ministry of Sports and Recreation. We will address these issues in due course,” the statement read.
Despite the ongoing discussions, the GFA emphasized the importance of focusing on the upcoming crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Chad on Thursday, September 4th, 2025, and Mali on Monday, September 8th, 2025.
The GFA called for the unwavering support of all Ghanaians as the Black Stars prepare for these important matches, highlighting the unity and commitment of supporters as vital to the team’s success.
The GFA expressed gratitude to all Ghanaians for their continued support for the Black Stars and other national teams.
