The South African Police Service officers intervened in a group of heavily armed suspects planning a cash-in-transit robbery, leading to a shootout that resulted in the deaths of two suspects. In another incident, officers confronted a criminal group attempting to rob two courier vehicles in the same area, resulting in the fatal shooting of four suspects.
The committee released a statement on Wednesday commending the police for their unwavering commitment to combating crime in Gauteng. It highlighted the bravery and dedication of the officers involved in both operations, stating that their actions sent a strong message to criminals that illegal activities will not be tolerated in the community.
