Mayibuye iAfrika, a new political movement formed by Floyd Shivambu after being fired as secretary general of Jacob Zuma’s uMkhonto we Sizwe party, is set to challenge established parties in KwaZulu-Natal in the upcoming local government elections in 2026.

The movement aims to shake up the political landscape in the region, with a focus on addressing key issues and representing the interests of the people. With a strong emphasis on grassroots mobilization and community engagement, Mayibuye iAfrika is positioning itself as a viable alternative to traditional political parties.

Led by Nombuso Mkhize, the party has already gained traction among voters disillusioned with the ruling ANC and the opposition EFF. The movement’s commitment to independent journalism and access to premium articles and features has attracted a growing number of subscribers who are eager to support its mission.

As political defections continue to shape the political landscape in South Africa, Mayibuye iAfrika stands out as a bold and progressive force that is determined to bring about real change. With a focus on inclusivity and transparency, the movement is poised to make a significant impact in the upcoming elections.

Stay tuned for more updates on Mayibuye iAfrika and its efforts to challenge the status quo in KwaZulu-Natal. Subscribe to join the M&G community and be part of this exciting new chapter in South African politics.
