‘Kaizer Chiefs Legend Siyabonga Nomvethe Recommends Zimbabwean Striker Knox Mutizwa for Amakhosi’
Former Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana striker Siyabonga Nomvethe believes that Amakhosi should consider signing Zimbabwean striker Knox Mutizwa ahead of the upcoming season. Nomvethe recently expressed his thoughts on Mutizwa’s potential transfer to Chiefs in an interview with kickoff.com.
Mutizwa was reportedly released by Golden Arrows earlier this month, making him a free agent. The 31-year-old forward has a history of scoring against Kaizer Chiefs, with his most recent goal coming in a 2-1 victory for Arrows over Chiefs in March. In fact, Mutizwa has found the back of the net against Chiefs in each of the past four seasons.
Chiefs’ Nemesis
Despite his impressive record against Chiefs, Mutizwa’s overall goal-scoring statistics have been somewhat inconsistent during his time at Golden Arrows. While he managed to score 13 goals in the 2019/20 season, he has struggled to replicate that form in the current campaign, finding the net only three times in 15 appearances.
However, Nomvethe remains convinced of Mutizwa’s abilities, stating, “Mutizwa is a good striker and a perfect match for Kaizer Chiefs. His experience and goal-scoring prowess could be invaluable to the team. He has a keen eye for goal and knows how to capitalize on scoring opportunities.”
Amakhosi have faced challenges in the attacking department in recent seasons, with a lack of consistent goal-scorers hindering their success. Nomvethe believes that Mutizwa’s arrival could provide the necessary firepower to bolster Chiefs’ offensive capabilities.
“Mutizwa’s awareness inside the box and clinical finishing make him a valuable asset for any team. His ability to convert chances into goals could make a significant difference for Kaizer Chiefs,” Nomvethe added.
While Mutizwa’s scoring record may raise some concerns for Chiefs, Nomvethe remains optimistic about the striker’s potential impact on the team. With his experience and goal-scoring instincts, Mutizwa could prove to be a valuable addition to the Amakhosi squad.
