Blueroomcare, a Nigerian mental health platform, has joined forces with EHA Clinics to offer in-person therapy sessions in Abuja and Lagos. This collaboration aims to enhance mental healthcare accessibility in Nigeria by bridging the gap between virtual and physical mental health services, making professional support more readily available to the local community.

In a statement shared with Techpoint Africa, Moses Aiyenuro, CEO of Blueroomcare, expressed excitement about the partnership with EHA Clinics. He emphasized the importance of mental health for overall well-being and highlighted their commitment to making mental health services accessible to all individuals.

Through this partnership, individuals can schedule appointments through Blueroomcare’s website or visit EHA Clinics’ branches in Abuja and Lagos to book a therapy session. These sessions, scheduled once a week, will provide clients with a safe and supportive environment to address their mental health needs.

Blueroomcare’s decision to offer in-person mental health services stems from client feedback indicating a preference for a combination of virtual and in-person care. A survey conducted by the platform revealed that 57.75% of respondents preferred this approach.

EHA Clinics will provide logistical support and space, while Blueroomcare will bring licensed therapists to ensure clients receive high-quality, personalized care. With mental health concerns on the rise in Nigeria, this initiative comes at a crucial time to address the growing demand for therapy services.

Approximately 20% of Nigerians experience various forms of mental health issues, with 80% of those in need unable to access care due to resource limitations and societal attitudes towards mental illness. The partnership between Blueroomcare and EHA Clinics aims to promote holistic health and well-being, setting a precedent for expanded mental health care access across the country.

Blueroomcare’s choice of EHA Clinics as a partner was based on the clinic’s commitment to community-focused healthcare and innovative wellness solutions. The platform has already provided therapy services covered by insurance to over two million people across Africa since its launch in 2022.

The partnership between Blueroomcare and EHA Clinics was facilitated by EHA Impact Ventures, which led a pre-seed funding round in Blueroomcare to expand its mental health services within Nigeria and beyond. Plans are in place to extend mental health services to regions beyond Abuja and Lagos, including Kano, Rivers, and Oyo States.

Blueroomcare aims to positively impact at least 3,000 individuals across Lagos, Abuja, Kano, and other locations in the first year of the partnership. By offering in-person care, the platform strengthens its role in improving mental health support in Nigeria and aims to provide quality, affordable mental health services to a billion lives in the long term.
