The Stade de Kégué was buzzing with excitement as the Black Galaxies of Ghana clashed with the Squirrels of Togo in an international friendly match. This game was not just a friendly encounter, but also a crucial test for Ghana as they prepared for their upcoming CHAN showdown against long-time rivals, Nigeria.

Right from the kick-off, the Ghanaian team showed their intent to dominate the game. Within just three minutes, a swift passing sequence in the midfield set up Amoah Albert, who calmly slotted the ball past the Togo goalkeeper to give Ghana an early lead.

Despite the setback, the Squirrels of Togo fought hard to get back into the game, launching a series of attacks down the wings. However, Ghana’s defense, marshaled by their captain, held firm and repelled every Togo threat with ease.

In the 27th minute, the Black Galaxies extended their lead with a beautifully executed goal. A precise through ball from the midfield found Yakubu Issah, who timed his run to perfection and finished clinically to make it 2-0 in favor of Ghana. This goal showcased Ghana’s sharpness and efficiency in front of goal.

As the first half drew to a close, it was evident that Ghana was in complete control of the game. Their solid defense and composed goalkeeping had kept Togo at bay, highlighting their preparedness for the upcoming CHAN qualifiers against Nigeria.

The halftime whistle blew, signaling a break for both teams. Ghana had made a strong statement with their performance in the first half, demonstrating their readiness for the challenges that lie ahead in the CHAN qualifiers.
