Afreximbank has recently launched a new documentary series called Impact Stories, which aims to showcase the development impact of the Bank’s interventions across various sectors and countries in Africa and the diaspora. The first season of the series consists of six episodes that premiered on Afreximbank TV on February 27, 2025.
Produced by the Afreximbank TV team in collaboration with CNN’s Create Studio services, Impact Stories aims to highlight the Bank’s interventions through multi-faceted narratives that bring its initiatives to life. By featuring testimonials from individuals, businesses, communities, and economies that have been positively impacted by Afreximbank’s interventions, the series creates an emotional connection and shared commitment to an African vision focused on transforming trade and economic self-determination.
The inaugural season of Impact Stories includes episodes filmed in six countries and sectors, showcasing some of Afreximbank’s development impact through inspiring documentary-style films. One of the episodes features the Zimborders Beitbridge project in Zimbabwe, which involves the expansion and upgrade of Beitbridge Border Post, demonstrating how Afreximbank’s investment in modernizing the border post is addressing trade inefficiencies, promoting intra-African trade, and driving regional growth.
Other episodes in the series highlight projects such as the Glo-Djigbé Industrial Zone (GDIZ) in Benin, Oando PLC’s successful acquisition in the Nigerian oil sector, Eva’s Coffee in Kenya, Reine Ablaa – a rising music star, and the ongoing success of Afreximbank’s Pan African Payments and Settlement System (PAPSS).
Mrs. Anne Ezeh, Director of Communications and Events at Afreximbank, emphasized the Bank’s transformative role in driving Africa’s economic independence through trade and trade-enabling infrastructure. The Impact Stories series serves as a platform to showcase the tangible progress made by Afreximbank in transforming the economic fortunes of the African people while addressing the development challenges that remain.
Impact storytelling goes beyond traditional creative metrics by focusing on people and economies positively impacted by projects and developmental interventions. By combining data, evidence, and personal stories, impact storytelling becomes a powerful tool for advocating positive shifts and inspiring others to champion similar causes.
The first episode of Impact Stories aired on February 27 on Afreximbank TV, with new episodes scheduled for release weekly. For more information about Afreximbank and its initiatives, visit www.Afreximbank.com.
