Jude Bellingham Shines as Real Madrid Defeat Girona
Jude Bellingham continued his impressive run of form, guiding Real Madrid to a convincing 3-0 victory over Girona on Saturday. The win narrowed Barcelona’s lead in La Liga to just two points, thanks to Bellingham’s stellar performance.
Bellingham opened the scoring in the first half and also provided an assist for Arda Güler’s goal, with Kylian Mbappé adding a third to seal the win for Madrid. Despite picking up a knock during the game, coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that Bellingham would be available for Madrid’s upcoming Champions League clash against Atalanta.
The victory came after a disappointing midweek loss to Athletic Bilbao, with Ancelotti emphasizing the need for improvement. “Bellingham continues to impress with his fifth consecutive goal in La Liga, Mbappé showcased his clinical finishing, Brahim Diaz worked tirelessly, and Arda scored a fantastic goal,” Ancelotti stated.
“We need to endure this moment and gradually work our way back to top form,” Ancelotti added.
On the other hand, Barcelona stumbled to a 2-2 draw against Real Betis, with Assane Diao’s late equalizer denying them victory. Despite goals from Robert Lewandowski and Ferran Torres, Barcelona’s coach Hansi Flick expressed concerns about the team’s away performances and urged for better displays on the road.
With the La Liga title race intensifying, Real Madrid’s resurgence adds pressure on Barcelona as both teams now shift their focus to the upcoming Champions League fixtures.
