The second Test match between Australia and India at Adelaide Oval ended with a resounding victory for the hosts, who won by 10 wickets to level the series 1-1. The Australian team put on a masterclass performance in both batting and bowling, showcasing their dominance at their fortress, Adelaide Oval.

India, who resumed their innings at 128-5 on the third day, could only manage to add a few more runs before being bowled out for 175. Rishabh Pant, who looked dangerous with the bat, fell early to Mitchell Starc, setting the tone for India’s collapse. Captain Pat Cummins led the Australian bowling attack with a brilliant 5-wicket haul, while Scott Boland and Mitchell Starc also chipped in with crucial wickets.

The Australian openers, Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney, chased down the target of 19 runs without losing a wicket, sealing the victory for their team. Skipper Pat Cummins expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, acknowledging the turnaround from their defeat in Perth.

Travis Head’s match-winning century was a standout moment in the game, as he guided Australia to a commanding lead. Despite the batting failures of Khawaja and Steve Smith, the Australian team silenced their critics with a dominant performance in Adelaide.

For India, the loss in Adelaide was a bitter pill to swallow, as they failed to capitalize on key moments in the game. Captain Rohit Sharma admitted that his team didn’t play well enough to win and highlighted the missed opportunities that cost them the game.

The game-changing moment came early in the match when Mitchell Starc dismissed Yashasvi Jaiswal on the first ball. India never recovered from that early blow and were bowled out for 180 in their first innings. Australia capitalized on their experience with the pink ball to set up a commanding lead, which proved to be too much for India to overcome.

Looking ahead to the next Test at the Gabba in Brisbane, both teams will be eager to make adjustments and come out stronger. The series is finely poised at 1-1, promising more exciting cricket in the upcoming matches.
