Emmanuel Kwabena Owusu, the Chief Technological Officer of AT (formerly AirtelTigo), has been recognized as one of Africa’s 12 Most Influential Telecoms Leaders by the Africa Tech Festival 2025. This prestigious honor, featured in the festival’s annual 100 African Leaders in Tech and Telecommunications report, acknowledges individuals who are driving innovation, enabling connectivity, and shaping the continent’s digital transformation.

Emmanuel’s journey to this accolade has been marked by visionary leadership, technical expertise, and a steadfast commitment to advancing Ghana’s telecom infrastructure. As CTO of AT Ghana, he has spearheaded initiatives to extend fast, reliable, and inclusive connectivity nationwide. Under his guidance, AT Ghana has made significant strides in expanding its 4G network and implementing transformative technologies like Multi-Operator Core Networks (MOCN) and national roaming solutions, bridging connectivity gaps and enhancing service delivery in underserved areas.

Prior to his role as CTO, Emmanuel served as AT Ghana’s Director of Network Planning, where he successfully led a seamless network integration project. His earlier work at Tigo Ghana, where he orchestrated the first-ever network integration between Airtel and Tigo, solidified his reputation as a technical strategist capable of executing complex projects with precision. His extensive experience across the telecom value chain, including senior roles at Vodafone Ghana, Ericsson, and Huawei, has equipped him with a unique perspective and collaborative approach to problem-solving.

In response to the announcement, Emmanuel expressed gratitude to his Networks Team and the Africa Tech Festival for the recognition, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in achieving success. The Africa Tech Festival highlighted this year’s honorees as catalysts for inclusive growth, empowerment, and innovation, praising them for their contributions to positioning Africa as a key player in the global economy.
