Altercation over MAGA Hat Delays British Airways Flight
It was a scene straight out of a political drama as two American women caused a commotion on a British Airways flight over a red Make America Great Again (MAGA) hat. The incident, which took place at London’s Heathrow Airport, led to the women being escorted off the plane by police, causing a delay in the flight to Austin, Texas.
According to reports, the women, one in her 40s and the other in her 60s, got into a physical altercation over the MAGA hat. The argument escalated as one of the women demanded that the other remove the hat with Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump’s slogan on it. When the woman refused, punches were thrown, leading to a brawl that continued inside the plane’s cabin.
The captain had to intervene and call authorities to remove the women from the flight to prevent further escalation. London’s Metropolitan Police responded to the situation and escorted the women off the plane while they continued to exchange heated words.
Although neither woman was arrested, they were both interviewed by the police following claims of affray. The investigation is ongoing, according to the Met police.
