Minister Dominique Alexander, the activist representing accused teen killer Karmelo Anthony, has a controversial past marred by criminal charges and allegations of domestic violence. Reports reveal that Alexander has a history of run-ins with the law, including a conviction for child abuse in 2009.

According to Fox 4 Dallas, Alexander was arrested for shaking and hitting his then-girlfriend’s 2-year-old child with an object. He was convicted of the charges in 2011 and received two years of probation. However, in 2016, Alexander was sentenced to two years in prison for violating his probation but only served eight days for traveling out of state without permission, as reported by the Dallas Morning News.

In addition to the child abuse charges, Alexander was indicted on felony forgery charges in 2013 and felony theft charges in 2017, facing a possible 20-year prison sentence due to his previous convictions. Furthermore, in 2019, he was indicted on felony assault charges in a domestic violence case involving his then-girlfriend Keyaira D. Saunders.

Saunders accused Alexander of pushing, choking, and head-butting her during multiple altercations. Despite the accusations, Saunders decided against proceeding with a trial. Alexander, the president and CEO of Next Generation Action Network, has been actively involved in advocating for Karmelo Anthony, the teenager accused of fatally stabbing Austin Metcalf at a track meet.

Next Generation Action Network has been vocal in their support for Anthony, posting on social media about their efforts to aid the accused killer. Alexander led a news conference on the case that was interrupted by Jeff Metcalf, the father of the victim, causing tension between the two parties.

In a Facebook post, Alexander expressed his frustration with Jeff Metcalf’s actions, calling it a deliberate distraction and undermining of the process. Despite the backlash, Alexander continues to advocate for Anthony and his family, who have come under scrutiny for their financial decisions while facing legal challenges.

The controversy surrounding Minister Dominique Alexander highlights the complexities of his advocacy work and raises questions about his credibility as an activist. As the case of Karmelo Anthony unfolds, Alexander’s past actions and legal troubles may impact the perception of his involvement in high-profile cases.
