Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport Receives Approval for Commercial Operations
The Gateway International Agro-Cargo Airport, located along the Ilisan-Iperu route in Ogun State, has recently been granted approval for commercial operations by Nigerian aviation regulatory bodies.
Following a thorough inspection conducted on Tuesday, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Nigerian Airspace Management Agency, and Nigerian Meteorological Agency have all endorsed the facility for commercial activities.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the regulatory agencies commended the airport’s state-of-the-art infrastructure, describing it as “world-class” and a source of pride for Ogun State.
Key facilities such as the control tower, weather monitoring systems, runway, fire service stations, and apron were highlighted for their compliance with international standards. The airport is being hailed as one of the premier aviation hubs in West Africa.
“There has been a noticeable improvement in the facilities since my last visit. The infrastructure here is on par with any standard airport worldwide,” remarked Ango Mohammed, representing the Director of Aerodrome and Airspace Standards at the NCAA.
Mohammed commended the quality of work carried out under Governor Dapo Abiodun’s administration, emphasizing the significance of recognizing the successful completion of the project.
