A Woman and Her Dog Survive 60-Foot Fall While Hiking in Canada
A woman and her dog had a miraculous survival story after a terrifying fall while hiking in British Columbia, Canada. Margaux Cohen, 36, was hiking Tricouni Peak with her dog, Zion, and two friends when the incident occurred on August 24.
According to reports, the group had strayed off the trail and encountered a wall blocking their path back. As they tried to climb over the wall, Zion slipped and started sliding down the mountainside. In a desperate attempt to save her beloved pet, Cohen grabbed his harness, leading to a dramatic 60-foot fall onto jagged rocks.
Despite the fall, Cohen remained conscious and saw that her right leg was severely injured. She screamed for help, alerting her friends who called for emergency assistance. Amazingly, Zion was found alive and sitting beside her, wagging his tail despite an injured paw.
After more than two hours in the scorching heat, Cohen and Zion were rescued and airlifted to the hospital. Cohen is currently undergoing treatment for a broken leg and has already undergone one surgery with another one pending.
Despite the ordeal, Cohen remains grateful to her friends and the search-and-rescue team for saving her and Zion. She believes that someone was watching over her that day, as both she and her loyal dog survived the harrowing fall.
The heartwarming story of survival has touched many, and a GoFundMe has been set up to help with Cohen’s recovery.
As Cohen continues her journey to recovery, she is thankful for the support and care she has received and remains positive about the future ahead.
