Nigerian Artist Ayra Starr Breaks Record on Spotify

Ayra Starr Makes History with 5 Million Spotify Followers

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has achieved a new milestone on the global streaming platform, Spotify. The artist, known for her hit song ‘Rush’, recently surpassed 5 million followers on the platform, making her the first African female artist to reach this significant mark.

Despite this new record in followers, the singer still trails fellow Nigerian artist Tems in total streams among African female artists on Spotify.


Ayra Starr currently has a cumulative 2.7 billion streams across all her credited works, while Tems leads with 3.8 billion streams.

Breaking down her Spotify success, Ayra Starr’s most streamed song overall is “Santa,” boasting over 707,987,442 streams. Her most streamed lead single on the platform is “Rush,” which has garnered over 474 million streams.
