Lois Boisson Makes Record Leap in WTA Rankings After French Open Success

France’s rising tennis star, Lois Boisson, has caused quite a stir at the recently concluded French Open, leading to a remarkable surge of 296 spots in the latest WTA rankings. Boisson has now reached a career-best position of 65, showcasing her potential and talent on the international stage.

Following their impressive performances in Paris, Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff have solidified their positions at the top of the rankings. Gauff emerged victorious in a thrilling final showdown against world number one Sabalenka, further cementing her status as a rising star in the world of tennis.

Boisson’s journey to the semi-finals of the French Open was nothing short of extraordinary. Despite being granted a wildcard entry into the tournament just a year after undergoing knee surgery, the 22-year-old showcased incredible skill and determination on the court. Ranked 361st in the world at the start of the tournament, Boisson pulled off impressive victories against top-ranked players like Jessica Pegula and Mirra Andreeva before eventually bowing out to Gauff in the semi-finals.

The reigning champion of the French Open, Iga Swiatek, faced a setback in this year’s tournament, dropping two places to seventh after her semi-final defeat to Sabalenka. Meanwhile, China’s Zheng Qinwen has made significant strides in the rankings, climbing to fifth position following her impressive quarter-final performance in Paris, adding to her accolades after claiming Olympic gold the previous year.
