Keyshawn Johnson Sues NFL Agent for $1 Million in Finder’s Fees
Keyshawn Johnson, former NFL star and media personality, has filed a lawsuit against NFL agent Chris Ellison, alleging that Ellison owes him nearly $1 million in finder’s fees. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles and obtained by TMZ Sports, details a deal struck between Johnson and Ellison about a decade ago. In this agreement, Johnson agreed to refer players to be represented by Ellison in exchange for a portion of the NFL contracts those athletes received.
According to the lawsuit, Johnson was supposed to receive one-third of the three percent commission that Ellison earned on the players’ salaries. However, Johnson claims that Ellison has failed to pay him for four of the players he recruited – Deommodore Lenoir, Jaylon Johnson, Mike Hughes, and Romeo Doubs.
Johnson asserts that based on their agreement, Ellison should have paid him $962,335, but he has yet to receive any payment. As a result, Johnson is taking legal action to recover the owed amount.
In response to the lawsuit, Ellison denied all of the claims made by Johnson. The legal battle between the two parties is ongoing, with both sides standing firm on their positions.
Keyshawn Johnson played in the NFL from 1996 to 2006 and has since transitioned into a prominent media figure. Despite his post-football career, Johnson has remained involved in the football community, mentoring high school and college players over the years.
The outcome of the lawsuit between Johnson and Ellison remains to be seen as they continue to dispute the allegations and seek resolution through legal channels.
