The Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation in Egypt has recently completed the preparation of the Economic and Social Development Plan for the fiscal year 2025/2026. This plan statement was presented before the House of Representatives, signaling a new phase of development for the country.

In a meeting with the Ministry’s leaders, H.E. Dr. Rania A. Al-Mashat expressed gratitude for the efforts of the various departments in completing reports and launching public platforms. These efforts included the Ministry’s Annual Report for 2024, Egypt’s Integrated National Financing for Development Strategy, and reports on localizing Sustainable Development Goals.

Dr. Al-Mashat emphasized the importance of continuous effort and work to implement the government’s program priorities and Egypt’s Vision 2030. Despite ongoing challenges, economic and structural reform measures implemented since March 2024 have strengthened the Egyptian economy’s ability to adapt and move forward in development.

The Minister directed discussions to begin preparing the medium-term economic and social development plan for the fiscal year 2026/2027. This plan will be the first medium-term plan in accordance with the Unified Planning Law, emphasizing a participatory approach involving ministries, public bodies, governorates, the private sector, and civil society.

The Ministry continues to play a pivotal role in implementing national structural reforms to empower the private sector and attract both local and foreign investments for sustainable economic growth. Efforts are also being made to support the Ministry’s digital transformation for evidence-based policy formulation.

Overall, the Ministry of Planning, Economic Development, and International Cooperation in Egypt is working diligently to advance the country’s development path amidst regional challenges and international repercussions. With a focus on macroeconomic stability and preserving development gains, Egypt is poised for continued progress and growth in the coming years.
