Introducing Go Time AI: Resilience17’s Accelerator Program for African AI Startups

Olugbenga Agboola, the CEO of Flutterwave, has recently launched Go Time AI, a groundbreaking accelerator program under his venture studio Resilience17. This initiative aims to provide substantial funding and mentorship opportunities to emerging African AI startups, marking a significant milestone in the continent’s technology landscape.

Formerly known as Berrywood, Resilience17 offers selected startups funding packages of up to $200,000. The inaugural cohort, launched in early 2024, consists of five innovative startups. These include Catlog’s AI-powered sales management chatbot, Sahel AI’s legal contract review automation, Tyms’ accounting software, AI Teacha’s educational platform, and FriendNPal’s mental health support application.

One of the key features of the accelerator program is its flexible structure, which allows startups of various sizes to participate. Each company in the program receives an initial investment of $25,000, with opportunities for additional funding based on their performance metrics. Participants also benefit from essential cloud computing credits and API services, vital tools for product development and scaling.

Hasan Luongo, the General Partner at Resilience17, emphasizes Nigeria’s potential as a global technology hub despite recent challenges. The program follows a focused four-month mentorship framework, including regular “Office Hours” sessions with industry experts. These interactions focus on crucial aspects of business development and growth strategies.

The program’s comprehensive support structure prioritizes practical guidance over theoretical business education, allowing founders to concentrate on essential elements of early-stage company development. The success of the first cohort has paved the way for a second round, with applications set to open in May 2025.

Go Time AI is positioned as a strategic investment in Africa’s technological future. Through this initiative, Resilience17 actively contributes to the growth of the continent’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The program’s resources and structure equip it to nurture innovative solutions while bolstering Africa’s presence in the global technology sector.
