World Travel Market (WTM) Africa is excited to announce the inaugural China Ready® Workshop in collaboration with CBISN, designed to assist African tourism businesses in tapping into the largest outbound travel market in the world.

“China’s outbound travel sector is anticipated to reach 200 million travelers annually by 2028, making this exclusive one-day intensive training on 11 April 2025 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC) a vital opportunity for African tourism stakeholders,” shares Olivia Gradidge, Marketing Manager for WTM Africa & ILTM Africa.

China Ready® is a renowned Chinese tourism preparation program that has been successfully implemented in 52 countries and six continents since 2002, aiding a significant portion of global tourism destinations in catering to Chinese visitors effectively.

Led by Dr. Marcus Lee, CEO of China Travel Online, the workshop will provide tourism professionals with practical insights on how to attract and serve Chinese visitors proficiently. Participants will gain expert guidance on understanding Chinese visitors’ preferences, marketing strategies, social media engagement, digital payment preferences, and cultural expectations to enhance the overall visitor experience.

“China topped the list of countries with the highest outbound tourism expenditure globally in 2023, as per UN Tourism. China Ready offers assurance to Chinese visitors that destination and service providers uphold the Chinese hospitality standard,” explains Marcus Lee, CEO of China Travel Online.

Endorsed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the China Ready® program, developed by the China Outbound Tourism Research Academy (COTA) and managed by CBISN, has facilitated remarkable growth in various destinations, with some reporting over a 100% increase in Chinese visitors post-implementation.
