Ghana’s Black Stars coach, Otto Addo, has issued a stern warning to his players ahead of their upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier against Chad. The team is advised not to underestimate their opponents in Thursday’s crucial match.
With five wins in their last six games, Ghana will be looking to secure another victory as they face Chad in Group I’s Match Day six clash at 1:00 PM local time.
Chad has struggled in the qualifying campaign, losing all six matches, scoring only one goal, and conceding 15 goals. Despite their poor performance, Addo emphasizes the importance of approaching the game with full concentration and respect for their opponents.
Addo stated, “It would be a grave mistake to underestimate a team like Chad. We must not assume victory before the game has even begun. We need to work hard and remain focused, especially considering the challenging conditions we will face on the astro turf pitch.”
He added, “Every team is a threat in modern football, and anything can happen on the field. We must believe in ourselves, stay concentrated, and avoid complacency.”
The Black Stars will be aiming for consecutive wins against Chad to strengthen their position in the qualification race.
The match will take place at the newly constructed Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno, marking Chad’s first time hosting Ghana in six years.
