The wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner was involved in a dramatic incident in Los Angeles, where she was shot by police during a chase and subsequently booked for attempted murder.
According to reports, LAPD officers were responding to a hit-and-run incident on a freeway in the Eagle Rock neighborhood when three suspects fled the scene. One of the suspects, after abandoning his vehicle, tried to evade the police by running into a residential street.
As law enforcement officers were searching the area and setting up barricades, Jillian Lauren, Scott Shriner’s wife, emerged from their house with a gun in hand. She allegedly began firing the weapon, presumably at the suspect. Despite repeated commands from the police to drop the weapon, Lauren ignored them and was shot in the shoulder before retreating back into the house.
Thirty minutes later, Lauren and her babysitter surrendered to the police with their hands up. She was then taken to a hospital and subsequently booked for attempted murder.
It is worth noting that Jillian Lauren is known for her colorful life, as she authored a book titled “Some Girls: My Life in a Harem,” which details her experiences as a guest of the Prince of Brunei.
The incident occurred just as Weezer was gearing up to perform at Coachella over the weekend. The suspect involved in the initial hit-and-run was apprehended, but two others are still at large.
