The entertainment industry has been hit with a tragic loss as news of the passing of renowned actor Mawuli Semevo spreads like wildfire. The talented actor, known for his exceptional performances on stage and screen, succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the Ridge Hospital. He was 63 years old.

The heartbreaking incident occurred following a fire accident that Mawuli had been involved in about a week prior. Reports from Beyond Burns International, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting burns survivors, indicated that Mawuli had sustained severe burns in the tragic incident. Judith Addison, a representative from the organization, shared the grim details in a video posted on social media.

“Mawuli was sleeping in his house when it caught fire,” Judith explained. “He suffered burns covering up to 44% of his body, with respiratory injuries affecting his ability to breathe properly. The extent of the burns was significant, with his entire body engulfed in flames, resulting in the loss of all his hair.”

Mawuli’s contribution to the film industry was unparalleled, with notable roles in movies such as ‘Harvest at 17’, ‘A Stab in the Dark’, ‘Escape of Love’, ‘Like Cotton Twines’, and ‘The Good Old Days: The Love of AA.’

His impeccable acting skills and dedication to his craft endeared him to audiences and colleagues alike, making his untimely passing all the more devastating. Mawuli’s legacy as a talented actor will forever be cherished, and his presence in the industry will be deeply missed.
