United Arab Emirates (UAE) President awards President of Tanzania ‘Mother of the Nation Order’

President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan Honors Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan

President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has awarded H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, with the prestigious ‘Mother of the Nation Order’ in recognition of her remarkable achievements and significant efforts in promoting sustainable prosperity and enhancing social cohesion.

The decoration was presented to the Tanzanian President by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a meeting held between the two leaders. The meeting was also attended by Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, Tanzanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, marking the beginning of the UAE top diplomat’s official visit to Tanzania.

During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah conveyed warm regards from President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Samia Hassan, expressing wishes for continued progress and prosperity for Tanzania and its people. He highlighted the strong bilateral relations between the UAE and Tanzania.

In response, President Samia Hassan extended her greetings to the UAE President, expressing her hopes for ongoing prosperity and development in the UAE.

The discussions during the meeting focused on strengthening friendship and exploring opportunities for expanding cooperation between the two nations across various sectors including economy, trade, investment, and development.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the UAE’s commitment to enhancing collaboration and fostering beneficial partnerships with Tanzania to drive sustainable development in both countries and enhance the well-being of their citizens.

Following the meeting, Sheikh Abdullah and President Samia Hassan witnessed the signing of a mutual administrative cooperation agreement on customs issues between the UAE and Tanzania. The agreement was signed by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of State, and Mwigulu L. Nchemba, Tanzanian Minister of Finance.

They also oversaw the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on investment cooperation in the mining sector, signed by Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan and Anthony Peter Mavunde, Tanzanian Minister of Minerals.

Furthermore, they witnessed the signing of an MoU between the UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Tanzanian Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture, aimed at establishing a bilateral Business Council. The MoU was signed by Saeed Mubarak Al Hajri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs, and Vincent Minja, President of the Tanzanian Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Agriculture.

Among the attendees at the meeting were Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of State; and Khalifa Abdulrahman Al Marzouqi, UAE Ambassador to Tanzania.
