Two suspected car thieves found themselves in a perilous situation as they narrowly escaped mob justice in a dramatic chase at Ablekuma. The duo had attempted to steal a Toyota Vitz with registration number GR 2628-24 but were apprehended by an angry mob at Amasaman 3 Junction.

The situation quickly escalated as the mob began physically assaulting the suspects, resulting in visible injuries. Fortunately, a quick-thinking police officer intervened just in time to prevent further harm. In a video circulating online, one of the suspects can be seen questioning the mob’s actions, while the other clings tightly to the leg of the police officer for protection.

The incident has sparked a range of reactions among the public. While some expressed little sympathy for the suspects and called for their imprisonment, criticizing their dishonesty and disregard for others’ hard work, others defended the act of mob justice as a deterrent to potential thieves.

On social media, opinions were divided. Some users advocated for harsh punishment, with one user tweeting, “Time for them to go to prison.” In contrast, others supported the idea of mob justice, with one user suggesting, “burn them alive… it will deter others.”

Overall, the incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers and consequences of engaging in criminal activities. While the debate over the ethics of mob justice continues, it is essential to remember the importance of upholding the rule of law and allowing the legal system to take its course in dealing with criminal behavior.
