President-elect Donald Trump recently confirmed reports that he is considering declaring a national emergency due to what he calls an “invasion” at the southern border. He plans to utilize military resources to close the border in an effort to address the ongoing crisis.

Tom Fitton, President of Judicial Watch, shared this news on social media, which Trump then endorsed by stating “TRUE.” Fitton’s post indicated that the incoming Trump administration is prepared to declare a national emergency and implement a mass deportation program to combat the influx of migrants.

During his campaign, Trump made immigration a focal point, promising to close the border and tackle illegal immigration. The issue escalated during the Biden-Harris administration, prompting Trump to take action.

The response to Trump’s decision has been divided along political lines, with both praise and criticism from Democrats and some Republicans. While some lawmakers called for Congressional intervention to address the border crisis, Trump is utilizing his executive authority to enforce existing laws and make administrative changes to immigration policies.

Trump’s selection of Tom Homan as border czar indicates his intention to use executive power to address immigration issues. Homan previously criticized Biden for “unsecuring the border on purpose,” highlighting the need for stricter border control measures.

As reported by The Center Square, Trump’s approach to immigration signifies a shift in policy direction from the previous administration. By leveraging his executive powers, Trump aims to address the border crisis and curb illegal immigration without relying on Congressional approval.

Overall, Trump’s decision to declare a national emergency and deploy military assets to the southern border underscores his commitment to tackling immigration issues head-on. Through a combination of enforcement measures and policy changes, he aims to restore order and security to the nation’s borders.
