Another Trump Considering Senate Run in North Carolina
There is speculation that Lara Trump, daughter-in-law of President Donald Trump, may be gearing up for a Senate bid in her home state of North Carolina. According to a report by NOTUS, Lara Trump is seriously considering entering the race to replace retiring Sen. Thom Tillis.
NBC News correspondent Vaughn Hillyard also tweeted that a source close to the Trump family revealed Lara’s strong interest in running for Senate in North Carolina. The source indicated that Lara is giving serious thought to joining the race, with the possibility of her decision being imminent.
Sen. Thom Tillis recently announced that he will not seek reelection in 2026, citing a desire to spend more time with his family rather than continue navigating the political dynamics in Washington. This decision has opened up an opportunity for new candidates to enter the race.
Lara Trump has been connected to potential Senate bids in the past, including speculation about running in North Carolina in 2020 and Florida in 2024. She has previous experience as the co-chair of the Republican National Committee and currently hosts a weekend show called “My View With Lara Trump.”
If Lara Trump decides to run for Senate in North Carolina, it could add another Trump to the political landscape and potentially shape the future of the Republican Party in the state.
