Trump Begs Court To Block Release Of Special Counsel Report

Attorneys representing President-elect Donald Trump have made a plea to an appeals court to halt the release of special counsel Jack Smith’s report detailing the reasons behind the decision to charge Trump for alleged crimes related to the events of January 6, 2021, as well as the alleged unauthorized retention of classified information. The legal team argues that the report contains sensitive information that has never been disclosed to the public and could potentially jeopardize Trump’s smooth transition into power.

In a move to support their former co-defendants in the classified documents case, Trump’s personal valet Waltine Nauta and Mar-a-Lago property manager Carlos De Oliveira, Trump’s lawyers have filed an amicus brief requesting the court to prevent the publication of the report. While the charges against Trump were dropped following his election victory in November, Nauta and De Oliveira still face legal repercussions.

Nauta and De Oliveira have taken their plea to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals, seeking a halt to the release of the anticipated two-volume report and a return of the decision-making process to the district court level. The hope is that Trump-appointed Judge Aileen Cannon will preside over a hearing and make a ruling on the matter.

As this situation unfolds, it is important to stay informed and updated on any developments that may arise. Please continue to follow this story for the latest updates on this ongoing legal battle.
