The Jesus Collective, a music group dedicated to spreading the gospel through music, will be embarking on their last outreach of the year in Cape Town. Founder Hilton Petersen believes in following Christ’s example of spreading hope and love through evangelistic efforts.
The Jesus Collective not only aims to uplift communities through gospel music but also mentors up-and-coming musicians from disadvantaged backgrounds. They collaborate with established South African artists and community leaders to amplify their message of faith and positivity.
The upcoming outreach event at Siloam Ministries in Protea Park, Cape Town, will feature performances by renowned artists Loyiso Bala and Khaya Mthwethwa. Petersen expressed his gratitude for the artists’ support, likening it to the biblical story of Noah’s family buying into the vision of building an ark.
This final outreach holds special significance as it marks the culmination of a year filled with about a dozen impactful events in underprivileged areas. The Jesus Collective’s dedication to bringing music and hope to communities that may not have access to such experiences is truly commendable.
In addition to their live album recording of Restored in 2022, the Jesus Collective recently released a single titled “Freedom Song” featuring Loyiso. Looking ahead, Petersen confirmed plans for a full album release in 2025, under the group’s record label, Collective Records.
As the year comes to a close, the Jesus Collective reflects on the hard work and blessings they have experienced throughout their outreach efforts. The upcoming event in Cape Town serves as a reminder of the power of music and faith to inspire and uplift those in need of hope and love.
