Two separate shootings in New York City on Tuesday left a 15-year-old boy dead and two other teens injured, with suspects still at large in both cases.
The incidents occurred just 35 minutes apart in Queens and Brooklyn, keeping authorities on high alert as they search for those responsible.
In East Flatbush, officers responded to a call at 80 East 93rd Street and discovered a 15-year-old boy in the lobby with a gunshot wound to the head. Another 16-year-old boy was found on the third floor with a gunshot wound to the shoulder. Tragically, the younger victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at Kings County Hospital, while the other teen remains in stable condition at Brookdale Hospital Medical Center.
It is still uncertain whether the teens shot each other or if there are other suspects involved in the altercation. The investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the tragic event.
In a separate incident in Jamaica, a 17-year-old boy was shot in the leg inside a residence on 122nd Avenue. He was taken to Cohen Children’s Medical Center and is currently in stable condition. The perpetrator in this case remains unidentified, and the investigation is ongoing to apprehend the suspect responsible for the shooting.
No arrests have been made in either of the shootings, and law enforcement officials are actively working to bring those responsible to justice. The safety and security of the community are paramount, and efforts are being made to ensure that such incidents are thoroughly investigated and resolved.
The incidents serve as a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced in combating gun violence in the city, and the need for continued vigilance and cooperation from the public to help prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
